A stray peacock had to be put down after it was attacked by a man in New York, who claimed the colourful bird was a vampire.
The bird was sitting on the bonnet of a car parked outside a Burger King on Staten Island, when the man attacked it, grabbing the bird by the neck before he hurled it to the ground and started kicking and stomping on it.
Asked what he was doing, the attacker explained, “I’m killing a vampire!”
